Retail Shift Leader

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist store management in supervising and facilitating daily store operations
- Oversee Store Manager responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
- Assist with personnel management and resolve customer service issues
- Provide direction, guidance and instruction to store associates
- Maintain store conditions according to established standards
- Assist with staffing levels when requested
- Act as sales and customer service leader and role model when management is absent
- Greet and assist customers while modeling exemplary conduct
- Ensure company policies, legislation, health, safety and security regulations are followed
- Handle and escalate customer complaints as appropriate
- Achieve sales targets and store-level KPIs
- Ensure employees actively pursue sales goals
- Oversee and assist with inventory management and shift inventory processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have valid SellSafe Certification
- Completion of high school and college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training required
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in the retail industry required; Cannabis industry preferred
- Demonstrated sales and service orientation required
- Excellent time management and prioritizing skills required
- Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff required
- Basic office administration skills required
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
- Thorough understanding of applicable health and safety legislation
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals at all organizational levels
- Ability to work nights, holidays, weekends and different locations
- A valid First Aid certification is considered an asset
