About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver high-quality hands-on pre-sales and post-sales customer support
- Diagnose and resolve technical, software and network connectivity issues
- Perform reactive and proactive servicing
- Upgrade software and firmware
- Install hardware and software
- Support network connectivity
- Provide operator training
- Meet and exceed customer needs
- Deliver against service-level agreements and keep customers informed
- Conduct site inspections supporting installations and upgrades
- Assist Canon staff to improve efficiencies
- Accurately manage service activities, parts inventory and administrative requirements
- Support Canon regional and/or remote customers on an ad hoc basis
- Keep current with technologies, training and technical/workplace compliance
- Contribute to personal development and share knowledge with colleagues
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and sustainability standards
- Report to the Manager – Service Performance within the Service and Support team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience as a printer, photocopier or field service technician
- Exposure to diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues
- Experience troubleshooting technical, software and network connectivity issues
- Ability to work independently and manage service activities in a field-based environment
- Strong problem-solving, communication and relationship-building skills
- Industry experience in a similar customer-facing service role highly regarded
- Current and valid driver’s licence
- Restricted Electrical Licence (REL), or a demonstrable pathway towards obtaining a Queensland Restricted Electrical Work Licence relevant to servicing business and office equipment
- Applicants without a current REL may need to provide evidence of relevant qualifications, training and/or industry experience consistent with Queensland Electrical Safety Office licensing requirements
- Must be eligible to work in Australia at the time of application
