About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and implement accounting best practices that maintain business velocity while meeting GAAP standards
  • Implement an ERP with key stakeholders
  • Provide leadership in managing the quote-to-cash process
  • Prepare Cape for and lead its first PCAOB audit
  • Own accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, tax, and state compliance
  • Prepare and maintain audit-ready books and regular financial statements
  • Hire and develop an accounting team for Cape’s next stage of growth
  • Update accounting processes to support the company’s growth
  • Report to the Head of Internal Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CPA certification
  • Understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • At least 2 years of Big 4 experience
  • Operational accounting experience within a fast-paced, high-growth startup
  • Comfort creating and editing journal entries in QBO
  • Experience implementing departmental accounting practices across systems
  • Successfully led an audit end to end
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements enhancing close accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong collaboration skills across business partners, customers, and vendors
  • Meticulous organization skills
  • Proven track record managing large projects end to end and owning recurring processes
  • Experience with NetSuite is a bonus
  • Unrestricted work authorization for the United States
