About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and act as required on the health of various security tools
- Respond to incidents and take appropriate actions regarding tooling within the Security Engineering Team's remit
- Triage requests entering the Engineering Team mailbox and Service Management intake queue
- Ensure ownership of requests is appropriately assigned within the wider team
- Ensure the integrity of client IT infrastructures
- Maintain the health of all Security Toolkit Infrastructure within remit
- Support SIEM, IDPS, GVM, and Malware Protection toolsets
- Record and respond to health alerts from maintained security infrastructure
- Configure and adjust policies, features, and enhancements in response to security incidents and client improvement requests
- Troubleshoot security tools affecting business applications
- Follow core IT Service Management principles
- Develop and demonstrate understanding of information security principles, malware analysis, emerging threats, attack techniques, and vulnerability management
- Work closely with government clients and stakeholders to provide technical support in information security response, security monitoring, and audit/compliance activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Eligible to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
- 5-7 years of experience working in SOC environment as a Security Engineering Specialist
- Experience supporting a large global enterprise environment
- Solid and demonstrable comprehension of Information Security including malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management
- Customer service including the resolution of customer escalations and incident handling response
- Cloud security experience (nice to have)
- Programming and/or scripting language experience: C, .NET, Python, Perl, etc. (nice to have)
- Previous experience in Unix/Linux and the editor vi (nice to have)
- Technical certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GPEN, GCCF, CISA, CWSP, CCSP, CCNP, MSCE, Security+, or other relevant certification (nice to have)
- Experience in change control, problem management, incident management, and troubleshooting of security solutions (nice to have)
- Technical proficiency in at least one enterprise SIEM platform and at least one enterprise Network Intrusion Detection System (nice to have)
- Familiarity with the Aerospace, Defense, or complex manufacturing industries (nice to have)
- Applicants for employment in the U.S. must have valid work authorization that does not now and/or will not in the future require visa sponsorship
