Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and deliver internal audits, assurance reviews and compliance assessments
Provide independent insight into governance, controls and risk management arrangements
Identify risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement
Deliver clear, practical recommendations supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Oversee tracking and implementation of actions from audit and assurance activity
Prepare reports, dashboards and assurance summaries for senior leaders and governance forums
Build relationships with stakeholders, regulators and external assurance partners
Champion accountability, compliance and operational excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at BPSS level
Strong knowledge of audit, assurance, risk management, and governance principles
Experience of leading audits or assurance reviews in complex or regulated environments
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and identify key risks
Highly developed report-writing and communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and confidently
Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assurance activities concurrently
Ability to influence, challenge, and advise at all levels of the organisation
High levels of integrity, objectivity, and professional judgement
Experience working with senior stakeholders and governance bodies
Knowledge of the military/Army desirable
