About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support North America as a key member of the Global Shared Services team
  • Partner with the global HR team, specialist teams, and business leaders
  • Drive the people component of Capital’s business strategy
  • Manage medical accommodations requests under ADA (US) and AODA (Canada)
  • Administer Leave of Absence (LOA) cases
  • Resolve questions and issues across general HR and Benefits domains
  • Participate in and/or lead centralization and continuous process improvement projects
  • Leverage technology to improve the associate experience
  • Discover actionable insights and recommend solutions
  • Oversee complex medical/religious accommodations and LOA cases for Canada and the US from start to finish
  • Educate leaders regarding accommodation/leave laws and benefit programs
  • Provide customized guidance to associates and managers
  • Analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into practical solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree or HR certifications
  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience preferred
  • Case management experience, preferably managing medical/religious accommodations and/or LOA cases
  • Strong communication skills
  • Advanced consulting skills
  • Broad HR knowledge base
  • Ability to interpret HR policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience leading impactful projects and process improvement efforts
  • Ability to conduct trend analysis with large sets of information
  • Ability to interpret data and translate information into actionable insights
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
