Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the engineering organization responsible for Tools and Insights capabilities within Risk-Aware Portfolio Construction
  • Shape the roadmap, develop talent, improve execution, and ensure reliable, scalable solutions that create value for investors
  • Partner with Product, investment professionals, and engineering leaders to align priorities and translate strategy into execution
  • Define and evolve the long-term strategy and roadmap for RAPC’s Tools and Insights capabilities
  • Lead engineering execution across investor-facing tools and insight-delivery capabilities
  • Establish operating mechanisms for roadmap progress, organizational capacity, delivery health, execution risks, and outcomes
  • Drive reliability, quality, performance, supportability, security, maintainability, and continuous improvement
  • Guide architectural direction, reusable components, shared platforms, and long-term platform evolution
  • Champion AI and agentic engineering practices across the software development lifecycle
  • Partner with stakeholders and investment professionals to identify opportunities, validate solutions, and prioritize investments
  • Collaborate across IG Tech and partner organizations on integrated capabilities
  • Communicate strategy, progress, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders
  • Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization
  • Coach engineering managers and technical leaders
  • Advance portfolio construction capabilities through tools and insights that help investors evaluate opportunities and make informed decisions
  • Leverage AI and emerging technologies while maintaining rigor, reliability, and governance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong partnership instincts and ability to shape strategy, co-own roadmaps, and align technology investments with business outcomes
  • Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, cloud architecture, APIs, testing, observability, security, and operational excellence
  • Experience building products combining investor-facing experiences with platforms, services, and data capabilities
  • Experience with investment workflows, portfolio construction, risk analytics, performance measurement, financial data, or other high-stakes decision-support environments
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and synthesize complex information into clear direction
  • Ability to establish discipline and accountability while empowering teams to innovate
  • Experience using agile and metrics-driven engineering practices
  • Strong communication skills with engineers, Product, investment professionals, and senior leaders
  • Experience developing engineering managers, technical leaders, and senior individual contributors
  • Pragmatic problem-solving approach balancing long-term architecture with near-term business needs
