About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as liaison between the line of business and Enterprise Supplier Management to manage accounts payable, including onboarding vendors, processing and routing invoices for payment, and tracking contracts and ongoing business expenses
  • Calculate and post accurate month-end expense accruals
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries and perform account reconciliations
  • Prepare expense variance analysis and assist with month-end close reporting
  • Interact with Finance, business partners, internal stakeholders, and associates throughout the Controller’s group
  • Support team automation and data transformation efforts
  • Identify and drive process efficiencies
  • Learn accounting processes and procedures at Capital One and for the Commercial Broker Dealers
  • Contribute to project work and grow responsibilities and impact
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in accounting, banking, or securities
  • Obtain and maintain a Series 99 Operations Professional license
  • At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in accounting, banking, or securities
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience managing end-to-end Accounts Payable workflows
  • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA candidate
