About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare and review accounting activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
Support and prepare external SEC and regulatory reports, including documenting and presenting results to management and senior leadership
Ensure accounting and reporting practices and documentation comply with corporate policies and procedures
Perform periodic analysis and reporting of financial performance for stakeholders and management within deadlines
Respond to requests from other departments and conduct research
Participate in corporate projects involving technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiatives
Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and stay informed about process or product changes
Provide ad hoc analysis to management
Support audit, risk, and compliance groups when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or military experience
At least 1 year of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination
Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
CPA license preferred
2+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination preferred
1+ year of experience in Tableau, Python, or SQL, or a combination preferred
