About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop business strategies driving growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One
  • Manage and develop 1–2 analysts; coach and mentor associates
  • Develop and implement product and pricing strategies for lending products
  • Lead product-level modeling and analytics
  • Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products
  • Define strategic intent for products distributed through retail channels
  • Build targeted insights for new customer experiences, technology, concepts, and go-to-market strategies
  • Improve credit performance by connecting future consumer credit trends to historical behavior
  • Create risk models and test hypotheses through rigorous monitoring and analysis
  • Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements, and execute product strategy
  • Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Collaborate with IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and other Capital One teams to improve quality, volume, service, and profitability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field or a Master's Degree in a quantitative field/MBA with a quantitative concentration, with the required degree obtained by the scheduled start date
  • Quantitative field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field
  • Proven track record of analytics-based decision making and problem solving
  • Strong quantitative orientation
  • Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity
  • Ability to build and leverage high-performing teams and business partnerships
  • Strong executive written and oral communication skills
  • Strategic influencing, interpersonal, negotiation, and agreement-building skills
  • Results orientation and ability to execute in uncertain and fluid environments
  • Successful track record in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business or a quantitative field
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in analysis
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in financial services
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience in consulting
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in people management
