Key responsibilities & impact

Lead adoption and responsible use of emerging AI and automation capabilities to improve cloud platform and engineering workflow scalability, reliability, and efficiency
Lead diverse technology projects and developers building scalable cloud infrastructure solutions that meet regulatory needs
Stay current with technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in technology communities, and mentor engineers
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions supporting millions of Americans
Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud provider tools and services
Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction
Design and implement large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements
Partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and shared services strategy
Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to well-managed cloud solutions
Evaluate emerging tools and practices to influence long-term technology strategy in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment
Integrate cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, audit, risk, and change-management awareness into daily work
Lead complex design and implementation efforts for scalable, performant, and reliable distributed or cloud-native systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering)
At least 7 years of experience in software engineering; internship experience does not apply
At least 2 years of experience in cloud engineering
8+ years of experience in coding with Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js (preferred)
4+ years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) (preferred)
4+ years of experience in CI/CD orchestration, Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks, and Automated Governance using Policy-as-Code DSLs (preferred)
One or more active certifications related to cloud infrastructure management or security (preferred)
Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native patterns (preferred)
Experience designing and supporting cloud networking, security, and identity integrations (preferred)
Experience troubleshooting and supporting production cloud environments (preferred)
Experience leveraging AI-driven tooling for cloud operations, platform reliability, infrastructure performance, or cost optimization (preferred)
Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts or large-scale technical initiatives (preferred)
Experience influencing technology strategy at the portfolio or business unit level (preferred)
