About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Capital One’s Experience Design team
- Co-create innovative solutions to complex problems and influence product strategy
- Craft compelling, accurate, and accessible digital content experiences
- Create content audits, taxonomy and terminology lists, content guidelines and patterns, content governance models, and microcopy for websites, user interfaces, emails, push notifications, and chatbot responses
- Lead design projects, directing and delegating work for junior team members
- Build partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders
- Mentor team members and help mature Capital One’s product design practice
- Navigate partner and stakeholder needs while ensuring customer-centered and inclusive design
- Apply customer, competitor, and market insights to business challenges
- Use knowledge of technology, data capabilities, and emerging technologies to inform design work
- Foster collaboration across lines of business and bridge information gaps
- Present work across levels and job functions to influence strategic decisions and direction at senior levels
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 5 years of experience in content design, content strategy, or UX writing
- Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results, and impact
- High degree of skill in writing and user experience design
- Experience using appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems
- Ability to create content audits, taxonomy and terminology lists, content guidelines and patterns, content governance models, and microcopy
- Leadership skills, including directing and delegating work and mentoring junior team members
- Critical-thinking skills incorporating data, research insights, scalability, and technology constraints
- Proficiency with products and processes and ability to apply customer, competitor, and market insights
- Understanding of technology, data capabilities, and emerging technologies
- Ability to present work using design frameworks, data, and research insights to influence senior-level decisions
- Preferred: 6+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, or UX writing
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience working with and contributing to an established design system
- Preferred: 6+ years of experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners
- Preferred: Experience leading design projects or teams
- Preferred: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Preferred: Experience working in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces
