About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Co-create innovative solutions to complex problems and influence product strategy
Craft compelling, accurate, and accessible digital content experiences
Create content audits, taxonomy and terminology lists, content guidelines and patterns, content governance models, and microcopy
Develop content for websites, user interfaces, emails, push notifications, and chatbot responses supporting end-to-end user flows
Lead design projects and direct or delegate work for more junior team members
Build strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders
Mentor team members and help mature Capital One’s overall product design practice
Navigate partner and stakeholder needs while ensuring customer-centered and inclusive design
Apply customer, competitor, and market insights to business challenges
Use knowledge of technology, data capabilities, and emerging technologies to inform solutions
Foster collaboration across lines of business and the organization
Present work across levels and job functions to influence strategic decision-making and direction at senior levels

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 5 years of experience in content design, content strategy, or UX writing
Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results, and impact
High skill in writing and user experience design
Experience using appropriate content design tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems
Ability to create content audits, taxonomy and terminology lists, content guidelines and patterns, content governance models, and microcopy
Leadership experience directing and delegating work and mentoring team members
Critical-thinking skills incorporating data, research insights, scalability, and technology constraints
Proficiency with products, processes, customer and competitor insights, and market trends
Understanding of technology, data capabilities, and emerging technologies
Ability to present work using design frameworks, data, and research insights
Preferred: 6+ years of experience in content design, content strategy, or UX writing
Preferred: 5+ years working with and contributing to an established design system
Preferred: 6+ years collaborating with product, technology, and business partners
Preferred: Experience leading design projects or teams
Preferred: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Preferred: Experience working in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces
