About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and inspire a team focused on sourcing strategy-aligned multifamily housing development opportunities
  • Manage relationships with developers, clients, and industry stakeholders
  • Market Community Finance products and gather market intelligence
  • Use market intelligence to shape External Affairs perspectives and inform investment decisions
  • Establish business goals, plan portfolio growth, manage relationships, and perform pre-qualification, structuring, and pricing of debt and proprietary investments
  • Lead risk management, new business initiatives, and well-managed processes
  • Develop organizational vision, drive innovation, and manage change
  • Apply data and technology to support business opportunities and improve efficiency
  • Represent the company at industry workshops and conferences
  • Attract, develop, coach, retain, and reward a diverse team
  • Manage deal risk, data integrity, structure, and economics through closing
  • Partner with Credit, Underwriting, Loan Administration, Community Finance, and other internal and external teams throughout the deal lifecycle
  • Evaluate and improve processes while maintaining knowledge of the bank, customers, portfolio exposure, competition, economic trends, and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in business development, underwriting, asset management, or portfolio management, or a combination of these, in affordable housing or commercial real estate
  • MBA or Master’s degree in Finance preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in affordable housing, community development, or Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) preferred
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience preferred
  • 5+ years of market analysis experience preferred
