About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Capital One's Enterprise Risk Management Issues and Events Management Program
Ensure effective management and continuous enhancement of Issues and Events Programs in alignment with business objectives, stakeholder expectations, regulatory frameworks, and risk management best practices
Establish appropriate risk management expectations across the firm
Develop a vision for future program enhancements, particularly data analysis and root cause analysis
Drive cross-functional improvements to enterprise-wide Issue and Event Management practices
Drive proactive analysis and reporting to identify enterprise-wide themes, trends, and improvement opportunities
Develop and deliver reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors
Lead teams through change and promote a strong risk management culture
Collaborate with stakeholders, peers, senior leaders, regulators, and consultants across the organization

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or military experience
At least 9 years of risk management experience
At least 7 years of experience in financial services
At least 5 years of people management experience
Strong experience in risk management within the financial services industry
Experience across the lines of defense preferred/ideal
Significant leadership experience, including direct-team leadership, program delivery, change management, and influence/collaboration with multiple stakeholders
Strong problem-solving, communication, analytical, interpersonal, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
Ability to drive decision-making with senior executives across all three lines of defense
Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in the financial industry
Ability to interact with Federal banking regulators with jurisdiction over Capital One
