About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex, multi-year integration initiatives
  • Define large-scale integration strategies
  • Drive application convergence and data migration efforts aligned with Capital One's long-term technology vision
  • Lead programs delivering critical business goals and large-scale products and platforms
  • Develop the TPM discipline by teaching the organization what an effective TPM can achieve
  • Establish operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling across portfolios
  • Drive program roadmaps anchored in business objectives, definitions of done, technical solutions, and dependency sequencing
  • Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and architectural alignment for platform convergence and reuse
  • Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks
  • Influence technology leaders on data-driven tradeoffs among speed, cost, and resiliency
  • Define measurable platform success outcomes, including availability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity
  • Ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
  • No new employment authorization sponsorship or immigration-related support
  • Preferred: 7+ years designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Preferred: 3+ years building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
  • Preferred: 3+ years building highly scalable products and platforms
  • Preferred: 3+ years of Agile delivery experience
  • Preferred: 3+ years delivering large and complex programs
  • Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
  • MBA or master's degree in a related technical field preferred
  • PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification preferred
  • 3+ years of people management experience or experience influencing an organization as an individual contributor
  • Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business
  • Track record of building TPM maturity at scale within engineering organizations
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills
  • Ability to engage deeply with technical teams and translate implications into compelling business narratives
  • Eligible to work without new employer-sponsored immigration support
