About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex, multi-year integration initiatives
  • Define large-scale integration strategies
  • Drive application convergence and data migration efforts aligned with Capital One's long-term technology vision
  • Lead programs delivering critical business goals and large-scale products and platforms
  • Contribute to TPM and delivery strategy by establishing operating mechanisms, maturity models, and scalable tooling
  • Drive development and alignment of program roadmaps anchored in business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and dependency sequencing
  • Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse
  • Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks
  • Influence technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost, and resiliency
  • Define measurable platform-success outcomes, including availability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity
  • Ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams
  • Help expand the TPM discipline by teaching the organization what effective technical program management can achieve

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
  • 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
  • 3+ years of experience in the Financial Services or FinTech domain, specifically leading technology modernization or financial systems integration programs
  • 3+ years of experience building highly scalable products and platforms
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
  • 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs
  • Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
  • Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business
  • Track record of building TPM maturity at scale within engineering organizations
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills
  • MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field is preferred
  • PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification is preferred
  • 3+ years of people management experience or influencing an organization as an individual contributor is preferred
  • Must not require new employment authorization sponsorship or immigration-related support
