About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead programs that deliver critical business goals and build large-scale products and platforms for Capital One customers
Expand the TPM discipline by teaching the organization what effective technical program management can achieve
Contribute to the organization’s TPM and delivery strategy by establishing scalable operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling
Drive development and alignment of program roadmaps anchored in business objectives, definitions of done, technical solutions, and dependency sequencing
Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse
Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks and influence technology leaders on data-driven tradeoffs among speed, cost, and resiliency
Define measurable platform-success outcomes, including availability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity
Ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in a technical field
At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA)
3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services, preferably AWS
3+ years of experience building highly scalable products and platforms
3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs
Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (preferred)
PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification (preferred)
3+ years of people management experience or influencing organization as an individual contributor
Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business
Track record of building TPM maturity at scale within engineering organizations
Exceptional communication and influence skills
