About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a top-priority technical program for Digital Commerce & Innovation
- Drive major technical transformations and scale platform capabilities across Capital One
- Establish TPM operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling that scale across portfolios
- Develop and align program roadmaps around business objectives, definition of done, technical solutions, and dependency sequencing
- Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and ensure architectural alignment toward long-term platform convergence and reuse
- Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks
- Influence technology leaders to make data-driven tradeoffs between speed, cost, and resiliency
- Define measurable platform-success outcomes, including availability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity
- Ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams
- Expand the TPM discipline by teaching the organization what effective technical program management can achieve
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
- 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
- 3+ years of experience building highly scalable products and platforms
- 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
- 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs
- Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
- Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business
- Track record of building TPM maturity at scale within engineering organizations
- Exceptional communication and influence skills

- Preferred: MBA or master's degree in a related technical field
- Preferred: PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
- Preferred: 3+ years of people management experience or influencing an organization as an individual contributor
