About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead programs delivering critical business goals and large-scale products and platforms for Capital One customers
- Expand the TPM discipline by applying industry knowledge and teaching the organization what effective technical program management can achieve
- Contribute to TPM and delivery strategy through scalable operating mechanisms, maturity models, and tooling
- Drive program roadmaps aligned with business objectives, definitions of done, technical solutions, and dependency sequencing
- Lead cross-platform technical investment planning and architectural alignment for long-term platform convergence and reuse
- Serve as an executive-level escalation point for program risks and influence technology leaders on data-driven speed, cost, and resiliency tradeoffs
- Define measurable platform success outcomes, including availability, scalability, cost efficiency, and developer velocity
- Ensure delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs
- 7+ years of experience designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
- 3+ years of experience building highly scalable products and platforms
- 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
- 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs
- Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
- Experience driving platform standardization across multiple product portfolios or lines of business
- Track record of building TPM maturity at scale within engineering organizations
- Exceptional communication and influence skills
- No new employment authorization sponsorship or immigration-related support available
- Preferred: MBA or master's degree in a related technical field
- Preferred: PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
- Preferred: 3+ years of people management experience or influencing an organization as an individual contributor
