About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive strategy and implementation of AI-readiness initiatives for the Discover Personal Loans business
  • Centralize, document, and optimize data for advanced analytical modeling
  • Modernize monitoring and governance processes by automating manual controls and establishing scalable data abstraction layers
  • Champion data quality and standardization efforts for core business data
  • Leverage analytics to improve customer experience
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of junior analysts
  • Participate in the full life cycle of projects
  • Collaborate across business units
  • Mine data for crucial organizational information
  • Implement process, data, and reporting improvements
  • Work with large and complex databases containing millions to billions of records
  • Improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct analyses to evaluate processes and tests
  • Extract and analyze data to assess product offerings
  • Consult on new production and data storage systems
  • Develop and implement strategic tests for products, initiatives, and marketing materials

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field plus at least 6 years of experience performing data analytics, or Master's Degree plus at least 4 years of experience performing data analytics
  • At least 4 years of experience performing professional data analysis work
  • At least 4 years of experience performing programming
  • Master's Degree in a STEM discipline (preferred)
  • At least 7 years of professional data analysis work experience (preferred)
  • At least 4 years of experience with Python, R, Spark, or SQL (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of project management experience (preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience in Tableau (preferred)
  • Proficiency utilizing and developing within AWS services (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving, conceptual thinking, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects independently and in teams
  • Business Intelligence background strongly encouraged
