About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement communications strategies for the Executive Communications team
- Inform and engage associates across the organization through multi-channel communications
- Build messaging connecting associates to business strategies
- Activate Card-wide campaigns locally and bring recognition initiatives to life
- Measure communications performance and impact using metrics and associate feedback
- Evaluate storytelling opportunities and drive end-to-end communications projects and campaigns
- Prepare content for internal audiences, including newsletters, Slack content, and surveys
- Provide communications counsel to leaders and stakeholders
- Support communications strategies for the Card Leadership Team and amplify stories across Capital One
- Collaborate with Creative & Design on digital and multimedia platforms
- Partner with Chiefs of Staff, HR, local teams, and other stakeholders to gather milestones and accomplishments
- Manage events from ideation through production, including executive meetings, virtual town halls, speaking engagements, and special events
- Select appropriate storytelling mediums and support content creation through publishing
- Evaluate communications performance and recommend refinements to strategies, messaging, and feedback mechanisms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Experience with project and/or process management
- Strong writing and storytelling skills with sound editorial judgment
- Ability to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications
- Proficiency creating communication cascades within matrixed organizations
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Ability to execute multiple competing activities and complex projects to high-quality conclusion, on time, and within budget
- Track record of acting with urgency as needed
- Strong customer orientation and collaborative work relationships
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
- At least 3 years of experience as a communications specialist or journalist
- Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Marketing, English, or Journalism preferred
- 4+ years of experience as a communications specialist preferred
- Applicants must not require new employment authorization sponsorship from Capital One
