About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-focused products
Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and related technologies to analyze large volumes of numeric and textual data
Build machine learning models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
Research and apply emerging technologies, state-of-the-art methods, and applications
Develop personalized recommendation engines and customer experiences across web and mobile applications
Conduct research involving Foundation Models, Reinforcement Learning, Causal Inference, Transformer-based architectures, and Recommender Systems
Translate complex data science work into tangible business goals
Retrieve, combine, and analyze data from varied sources and structures

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a required degree expected to be obtained on or before the scheduled start date
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field plus 5 years of experience performing data analytics, or Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of experience performing data analytics, or PhD in a quantitative field
At least 3 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R
At least 3 years of experience with machine learning
At least 3 years of experience with SQL
At least 1 year of experience working with AWS
Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position
Preferred: Master’s Degree in a STEM field plus 3 years of experience in data analytics, or PhD in a STEM field
