About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop repeatable processes, frameworks, and templates to improve team efficiency as Finance systems and processes integrate with Discover
  • Establish reporting cadences with Tech and Finance partners
  • Communicate key variances and drivers to help leaders remain fiscally well managed
  • Analyze financial impacts of platform convergence in unstructured environments
  • Deliver insights to senior leaders when information is evolving or imperfect
  • Analyze and explain key cost drivers and monthly variances
  • Recommend actions to the business and manage regular reporting processes
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and Profit & Loss (P&L)
  • Assist in developing presentations communicating analysis results to senior audiences
  • Clearly articulate analysis outcomes to leadership teams
  • Handle ad-hoc requests and special projects
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in financial analysis
  • At least 3 years’ experience with financial modeling
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance
  • Preferred: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Preferred: 4+ years’ experience in financial analysis
  • Preferred: 4+ years’ experience with financial modeling
  • Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in strategic analysis & planning
  • Proven business relationship, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated independent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities
  • Strong teamwork skills; ability to positively contribute to overall success of the team
