About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Capital One’s Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance & Ethics product design teams
Lead and empower a portfolio of 10–12 product designers
Collaborate with research teams and Product and Tech leadership
Lead high-impact, highly complex projects
Define and drive design strategy aligned with business objectives and organizational vision
Design experiences supporting AML and compliance platforms that safeguard Capital One and its customers
Simplify investigation queues, case management, and escalation workflows
Create artifacts including vision stories, journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
Elevate the quality and maturity of Capital One’s design practice
Foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture
Present work to senior stakeholders and make complex information accessible
Connect teams, portfolios, platforms, and lines of business to improve experiences and accelerate delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 8 years of experience in a product design role
At least 3 years of experience leading design teams
Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results, and impact
Experience designing within highly regulated environments such as financial services or healthcare
Ability to simplify dense, rule-heavy workflows into clear, low-error user experiences
Ability to collaborate with risk, legal, and compliance stakeholders
Experience designing data-dense interfaces for structured data
Experience spanning product design, service design, design strategy, and content design
Experience leading teams across UX/UI, strategy, content, and research from strategy through market delivery
Experience partnering with product managers, engineers, marketing, and analytics leaders across business lines
Experience working within a design system
Proficiency with web and mobile technologies and platforms
Expertise with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Experience managing an interdisciplinary design team
Proficiency in business case development
Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, relationship-building, and people-management skills
