Key responsibilities & impact

Lead complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction and managing execution from start to finish
Design, adapt, and document detailed project plans to manage timelines, scope, and risks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and align stakeholders across all levels on strategic goals
Mentor, develop, and coach associate project managers and delivery team members
Establish structure within complex, fast-paced workstreams
Create sustainable and scalable workflow structures to organize team workflows and throughput
Track project handoffs and timeframe impacts, and provide escalations
Establish routines that support progression from current work to future initiatives
Partner with leadership and teams across Capital One’s Model Risk Office
Manage strategic, high-priority projects that drive business outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 6 years of Project Management experience
At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Design Thinking methodologies
Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and lead teams through change
Ability to use Excel or Google Sheets to join disparate data sets and convey solutions
Preferred: Master’s Degree or MBA
Preferred: 7+ years of Project Management experience
Preferred: 1+ year of people management experience
Preferred: 2+ years of Jira or Github project experience
Preferred: 2+ years of model risk management experience in a regulated financial institution
Preferred: PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
Must not require new employment authorization sponsorship or immigration-related support
