About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a key risk thought partner for new businesses and emerging payments activities
- Evaluate AI capabilities, smart automation, and advanced analytics to modernize the payments risk landscape
- Document payments use cases and support lines of business in demonstrating adherence to payment risk policies and standards
- Identify opportunities to deploy RPA, natural language processing, and predictive risk analytics
- Streamline manual governance and oversight, operationalize controls, and improve monitoring efficiency
- Partner with Accountable Executives, Product, Technology, and Business Risk Offices
- Assess strategy, operations, and risks across ACH, wire, card, and real-time payment types throughout the payment lifecycle
- Drive risk mitigation across strategic and emerging payments initiatives across the enterprise
- Build and define risk modernization approaches for new businesses and payment programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance
- At least 4 years of experience in the banking or financial industry
- At least 2 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong foundational knowledge of risk management and/or payment types, rails, and operations
- Deep understanding of payment networks, including ACH and wires, and associated regulatory environments
- Analytical mindset with interest in Gen AI capabilities, agents, and automation workflows
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience preferred
- At least 4 years of experience in risk management, audit, or governance preferred
- At least 5 years of project management experience leading cross-functional projects and programs preferred
- At least 3 years of experience managing senior-level stakeholders preferred
- At least 3 years of experience working in payments preferred
- At least 3 years of people leadership experience preferred
- At least 3 years of process management experience preferred
- Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) certification preferred
