About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support business customers through Risk Event and/or Issue containment and remediation, with guidance from senior team members
  • Work with internal process owners, analysts, technology teams, and third parties to understand and address issues
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting Risk Event and/or Issue results to determine implications and corrective actions
  • Coordinate, influence, and negotiate with teams to meet timelines and advance remediation projects
  • Contribute to root-cause investigations and problem-solving for remediation projects
  • Maintain artifacts, evidence, and entries in the system of record
  • Identify and escalate situations to leadership in a timely manner
  • Support process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes
  • Develop subject matter expertise on Issue & Event processes when representing the department in projects and meetings
  • Understand and use Capital One’s risk management tools and systems
  • Assist in drafting and delivering presentations using well-reasoned information and cohesive data
  • Collaborate with the direct team and business partners, sharing tools, ideas, and expertise
  • Concurrently manage multiple open risk events and issues through analysis, solution identification, execution, and closure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in Risk Management, Project Management, Process Management, or Banking Operations
  • Ability to learn and contribute in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Emerging problem identification, resolution, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic environment
  • Eagerness to learn about Risk Methodologies and corporate risk practices
  • Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Risk Management, Project Management, Process Management, or Banking Operations
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience with G-Suite documentation management
