About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Gain a deep understanding of Capital One’s lines of business, transactions, and products relative to regulatory reporting requirements
Lead the preparation and review of schedules for FFIEC 031 (Call Report), FR Y-9C, FR Y-9LP, FR Y-15, and other significant regulatory filings
Engage in enterprise-wide data transformation, automation, process, and control opportunities
Enhance reconciliation and analytics to ensure consistency, completeness, and accuracy of data submitted and reported
Research accounting treatment and reporting requirements for business transactions and management or regulator inquiries
Build collaborative relationships with partners and upstream data providers
Drive issue resolution with accounting, treasury, and technology partners, including escalation and reporting to management
Stay current with evolving industry and regulatory changes
Contribute to Community and Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging efforts across Finance, Controller's, and Regulatory Reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelors’ degree or military experience
At least 1 year of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination
At least 1 year of experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office products, or a combination
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred)
2+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination (preferred)
2+ years of experience in Tableau, Python, or SQL, or a combination (preferred)
