About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare and review accounting activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
Support and prepare external SEC and regulatory reports
Document and present results to management and senior leadership
Ensure accounting and reporting practices comply with corporate policies and procedures
Perform periodic analysis and reporting of financial performance within deadlines
Respond to departmental requests and conduct research
Participate in technology and data transformation, process improvement, and business initiatives
Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve issues and track process or product changes
Provide ad hoc analysis to management
Support audit, risk, and compliance groups as needed
Support accounting and reporting for Card Partnerships at Capital One

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 3 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit or finance, or a combination
At least 3 years of experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office
Must be able to work in the designated office under Capital One's hybrid policy
Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization or provide immigration-related support
Preferred: Master’s Degree or MBA
Preferred: 4+ years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, finance, or a combination
Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Tableau, Python or SQL
Preferred: 3+ years of Process Management experience
Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
