About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead Capital One’s ACH Operations team
Oversee day-to-day operations of the ACH network
Ensure accurate and timely processing of ACH payments while adhering to compliance regulations
Manage risk and resolve payment discrepancies
Oversee file processing during Fed processing hours throughout the week
Handle ACH returns and exceptions
Influence simplification, automation, and modernization across critical business processes
Partner with and advise ACH initiation teams across Capital One lines of business
Manage well-managed activities for the ACH payment rail
Lead through incidents, risk events, audits, and exams
Define the future agenda for the ACH payment rail
Partner with other payment rail leaders to advance Capital One’s payment capabilities
Represent Capital One in NACHA and other key industry forums

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 5 years of financial services experience
At least 5 years of people management experience
At least 7 years of experience in risk management, payments, project management, process management, operations, or a combination
Strong analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to leverage data, judgment, and experience to make complex decisions
Experience leading Operations teams through technology transformations
Ability to work collaboratively with product and technology teams from discovery through delivery of new features
Management experience and a track record of influencing others and building partnerships
Ability to attract and retain top talent
At least 3 years of ACH experience (preferred)
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience (preferred)
PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification (preferred)
NACHA certifications (preferred)
At least 3 years of experience leading technology transformation for an operational team (preferred)
At least 10 years of experience in a strategic initiatives, risk management, payments, operations, or project management lead role in a large, matrixed organization (preferred)
