About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive Capital One’s AI and ML platforms supporting the company’s real-time information strategy
Lead initiatives spanning agentic AI architectures, multi-agent conversational systems, LLM inference, ML model training, fine-tuning, and monitoring
Collaborate with researchers, engineers, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders
Take AI initiatives from concept to production
Deliver high-reliability, real-time customer experiences across credit card, retail banking, auto finance, and other lines of business
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery
Lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership and provide insights and recommendations
Grow and mentor fellow TPMs and build the foundations for the TPM practice
Simplify technical complexity and drive decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science teams
Drive execution, follow-through, accountability, and business results across organizational boundaries

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in a technical field
At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs
Strong technical background, ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services
Ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle
Experience leading technology-focused discussions with senior leadership
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills
Quantitative approach to problem solving and systems-thinking ability
Experience helping grow and mentor fellow TPMs and building foundations for the TPM practice
Ability to simplify technically complex topics and drive decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science
Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results
Exceptional cross-team collaboration across functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries
Highly tuned emotional intelligence, listening skills, and empathy
9+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
5+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
5+ years of experience building on high-scale, low-latency data platforms
5+ years of experience with Agile delivery
5+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs
Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
AI/ML software product or system development experience

MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (preferred)
AI/ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open-source contributions, or patents (preferred)
