Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems
Create solutions meeting regulatory needs
Stay current with technology trends and participate in internal and external technology communities
Mentor members of the engineering community
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions
Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open-source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services
Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction
Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems
Partner with architects and product leaders to define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
At least 6 years of software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization
Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred: 9+ years of coding experience with more than two listed programming languages
Preferred: Experience with open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud technologies, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, mentoring senior engineers, observability, architecture reviews, coding standards, reliability practices, AI coding tools, technology strategy, interactive AI tooling, cross-functional engineering efforts, and large-scale technical initiatives
