Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a group of data scientists, business analysts, and data analysts through all phases of machine learning model development, from design through training, evaluation, validation, and implementation
Partner with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver customer-focused products
Use Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and other technologies to uncover insights in large volumes of numeric and textual data
Translate complex data science work into tangible business goals
Research and evaluate emerging technologies and state-of-the-art methods
Challenge conventional thinking and identify opportunities to improve the status quo
Develop talent within the team and beyond

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a required degree with an expectation that it will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field plus 11 years of experience performing data analytics, or Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 9 years, or PhD in a quantitative field plus 6 years
At least 6 years of experience leveraging open source programming languages for large scale data analysis
At least 6 years of experience working with machine learning
At least 6 years of experience utilizing relational databases
Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization
Preferred: PhD in STEM plus 7 years of experience in data analytics
Preferred: At least 4 years of experience managing people
Preferred: At least 6 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R for large scale data analysis
Preferred: At least 6 years of experience with machine learning
