Key responsibilities & impact

Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers working with distributed microservices and full-stack systems to create solutions meeting regulatory needs
Stay current on technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal and external technology communities, mentor engineering community members, and occasionally code or evaluate code
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions supporting millions of Americans' financial empowerment
Lead teams using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open-source relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services
Lead multiple Agile engineering teams or programs, providing strategic direction and ensuring delivery of large-scale cross-functional initiatives
Partner with product, architecture, and platform leaders to define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities
Develop and manage Lead Engineers and engineering leads, building succession plans and scaling leadership capability
Align engineering execution with enterprise goals and influence portfolio-level decisions and trade-offs
Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale distributed or cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering)
At least 6 years of software engineering experience (internship experience does not apply)
At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
At least 3 years of people management experience
Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred: Experience with architectural design reviews, databases, AWS/GCP/Azure, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git, cloud troubleshooting, open source frameworks, JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, APIs, programming languages, AI-based coding tools, engineering organizations, OKRs, organization design, talent strategy, and executive presentations
