Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems
Mentor engineering talent and lead major technology transformations
Stay current with technology trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal and external technology communities
Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions supporting millions of Americans' financial empowerment
Lead teams using Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open-source relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services
Lead multiple Agile engineering teams or programs and ensure delivery of large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
Partner with product, architecture, and platform leaders to define multi-year technology roadmaps and investment priorities
Develop and manage Lead Engineers and leads, building succession plans and scaling leadership capability
Align engineering execution with enterprise goals and influence portfolio-level decisions and trade-offs
Drive end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements
Code or evaluate code as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering)
At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply
At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
At least 3 years of people management experience
Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred: Experience leading architectural design reviews and influencing enterprise-wide technical standards and methodologies
Preferred: Experience with databases and database management systems
Preferred: Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies
Preferred: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks
Preferred: Experience using Git-based version-control systems
Preferred: Experience troubleshooting technical issues within cloud environments
Preferred: Experience contributing to open source frameworks
Preferred: Experience with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks
Preferred: Experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs
Preferred: Experience coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala
Experience leveraging modern AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots
Experience managing multi-team engineering organizations or leading strategic technical programs spanning multiple domains
Experience defining and tracking engineering OKRs aligned to business outcomes
Experience shaping organization design and talent strategy for scaling engineering capabilities
Experience presenting technology roadmaps and investment cases to executive leadership
