About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead user experience design and strategy across the unified Tech & Data Risk Management ecosystem
  • Embed policy governance, exception management, and cyber risk safeguards into workplace tools
  • Champion AI-forward and agentic design strategies to reduce administrative toil and accelerate time-to-insight
  • Lead product design and strategy for complex customer and business problems
  • Oversee and optimize design tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems
  • Guide the creation of vision stories, journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
  • Set team goals aligned with broader portfolio strategy and manage stakeholders
  • Train and develop designers and foster a high-performing, inclusive team culture
  • Shape product direction using design expertise, user insights, data, research, and business understanding
  • Drive alignment across product, technology, and business partners
  • Manage the design portfolio, including adjusting scope and priorities as needed
  • Own problem-solving approaches and balance competing interests and priorities
  • Collaborate across the organization to advance workstream projects
  • Present work across organizational levels and job functions
  • Support Capital One’s digital and physical customer experiences and business innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role
  • At least 6 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • At least 2 years of experience in a people leadership role
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results, and impact
  • Preferred: at least 8 years of experience in Product Design
  • Preferred: at least 8 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • Preferred: experience contributing to an established design system
  • Preferred: experience collaborating with product, technology, and business leaders
  • Preferred: experience leading design projects or teams
  • Preferred: experience in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces
