About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Apply strategic and analytical skills to support the Premium Products & Experiences (PPX) team and premium credit card business
Advise on developing industry-leading products, benefits, and features
Partner with the business on strategy and brainstorming
Understand business-team intent and assess legal and business risks
Advise on initiatives, multifaceted marketing strategies, and customer experiences
Identify and assess legal risks associated with the premium credit card business
Interpret laws, regulations, and legal requirements for business teams
Provide legal support as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team
Work with PPX, Card, Brand, Business Risk Office, Corporate Communications, and Compliance stakeholders to address risks, develop solutions, and resolve issues
Interact regularly with senior business partners, Legal Department subject matter experts, and other business attorneys

Requirements

What you’ll need

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
At least 5 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, government agency, as a military judge advocate, or as in-house counsel
6+ years of attorney experience preferred, ideally involving consumer regulatory, consumer financial services, or fintech industries
Expertise in or significant experience with consumer financial regulatory laws, marketing and advertising laws, and/or general risk management is a plus
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs
Ability to build effective relationships with attorneys, business managers, creative teams, analysts, project managers, and corporate compliance professionals
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others
