About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead high-impact technical programs that drive strategic business goals and scale modern platforms powering Capital One’s core customer experiences
- Lead delivery of key components of a multi-year platform modernizing customer-facing systems
- Partner across product, engineering, and multiple lines of business to accelerate execution, eliminate friction, and build scalable solutions
- Expand the TPM discipline by teaching the organization what effective technical program management can achieve
- Own the operational framework for program execution and roadmap transparency, including dependency mapping, risk escalation pathways, and platform governance routines
- Partner with engineering leaders to influence technical decisions and ensure platform scalability, resilience, and long-term maintainability
- Establish program-wide visibility and accountability through metrics, dashboards, and executive communication cadences
- Coordinate across multiple lines-of-business stakeholders to align product strategy with engineering platform capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
- At least 5 years of experience managing technical programs
- No employer sponsorship or immigration-related support for employment authorization
- Preferred: 5+ years designing and building solutions using distributed computing or service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Preferred: 3+ years building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture, preferably AWS
- Preferred: 3+ years building highly scalable products and platforms
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery
- Preferred: 3+ years delivering large and complex programs
- Preferred: Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment
- Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree or higher in a related technical field
- Preferred: PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
- Preferred: Experience driving cross-platform architecture decisions in a cloud-native, microservices-based environment
- Exceptional communication and influence skills, capable of engaging deeply with technical teams and translating implications into compelling business narratives
