About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive end-to-end technology and cyber risk assessments from implementation and evaluation through remediation tracking and risk finding closure
  • Support responsible AI application implementation and large-scale architecture transformations through timely risk assessments
  • Prioritize risk initiatives and ensure timely delivery of results
  • Build stakeholder relationships across engineering, operations, cyber, and risk functions
  • Guide risk and engineering partners through complex risk landscapes
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements for risk identification, assessment, and mitigation workflows
  • Monitor and analyze risk metrics and dashboards and oversee remediation efforts
  • Prepare compliance documentation and data for audits
  • Lead recurring risk forums and metrics reviews
  • Own and drive RCSA workflows
  • Develop and manage risk measurement frameworks and communicate data-driven insights to senior leadership
  • Proactively identify, own, and resolve risks with limited supervision

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in technology, cybersecurity, technology auditing, systems risk management, technology risk assessments, resilience engineering, chaos engineering, site reliability engineering, or a combination
  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent (preferred)
  • 2+ years of Risk Management experience in Cyber or Information Security practice (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud computing, including AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in a second-line or oversight role at a financial institution or regulatory agency (preferred)
  • Professional Security Certification or Professional Risk Management Certification (preferred)
  • CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or Open FAIR certification (preferred)
  • Strong project management, communication, analytical, and advisory skills
  • Must not require employer immigration support; Capital One will not sponsor new employment authorization applicants
