About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop engagement planning documentation and audit programs for assigned areas
  • Design and execute audit procedures to verify internal control effectiveness
  • Document auditee processes and procedures, review and analyze evidence, and identify potential issues
  • Prepare documentation supporting work performed, including draft findings
  • Maintain client and team relations during engagements
  • Communicate information and audit progress to the team, clients, and auditor-in-charge
  • Prioritize and plan work across multiple priorities and tasks to deliver quality results
  • Take on additional work to support the team
  • Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and feedback to audit staff, including junior associates and recent hires
  • Perform audits focused on Credit Risk Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in auditing, risk management, financial analysis, or a combination
  • Must be willing to work hybrid, typically 3 days per week in person at one of the listed offices
  • Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Preferred: Professional certification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Risk Manager (CRM)
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience in Credit Risk Management at a large bank or financial services organization
  • Preferred: Experience in credit policy or underwriting from a financial institution or consulting
  • Preferred: Experience in decision making and problem solving using data analytics and quantitative modeling
