Key responsibilities & impact

Lead technical vision and devise practical, reusable solutions to complex problems

Mentor engineers, coach technical communities, and actively recruit talent
Serve as a trusted advisor for key technologies, platforms, and capability domains

Work with the Network Authorizations Switch team on resiliency and scalability engineering
Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions
Ensure technical design and implementation quality
Advise on performance, scalability, and operability
Manage multiple projects and maximize impact
Modernize monolithic systems into microservice architectures and event-driven platforms
Collaborate with senior engineering and architecture leaders on platform strategy and API standards
Lead cross-divisional projects promoting technology best practices and enhancements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering)
At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), and data architecture
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Preferred: 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, web technologies, designing and building distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture
Preferred: 10+ years of professional experience coding in Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala
Preferred: 8+ years of experience with databases and database management systems
Preferred: 10+ years of experience across the full lifecycle of system development
Preferred: 5+ years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
Preferred: 10+ years of experience with networking protocols and integration with third-party distributed systems
Preferred: 5+ years of experience mentoring senior engineers and driving professional development within technical teams
Preferred: 2+ years of experience leading cross-domain architectural reviews and establishing coding and design standards
Expertise in the strategic application of agentic AI coding tools
