About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own end-to-end architecture for delivery across sites, email, SMS, push notifications, messages, AdTech ecosystems, and inbound channels enabled by AI
Ensure resilient, highly available architecture capable of handling billions of messages monthly with zero downtime
Serve as primary technical authority on email governance and evolving regulatory standards, including UDAAP and state-specific regulations such as FCCPA
Design and enforce safety protocols aligned with enterprise compliance and risk frameworks
Bring a cybersecurity perspective to delivery architecture
Lead modernization of legacy messaging systems into a unified Enterprise Message Delivery platform
Drive migration from legacy systems and architect vendor-agnostic built-and-bought solutions
Scale orchestration for enterprise traffic, AdTech integration, and B2B2C partner messaging
Implement workflow automations and establish engineering standards
Help drive build-versus-buy vendor strategy decisions
Act as technical leader for Message Delivery, Orchestration, and Integration engineering teams
Mentor Senior and Lead ICs and guide developers through complex technical challenges
Stay current with industry trends and recommend best practices
Architect telemetry and analytics pipelines for real-time observability, predictive performance tuning, and delivery optimization

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture
At least 7 years of experience in Enterprise architecture and design patterns
At least 2 years of experience deploying and delivering platforms within cloud environments
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with LLM systems, including RAG or embeddings, prompt or plan tooling, and model governance
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Preferred: 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, web technologies, distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture
Preferred: 10+ years coding in Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala
Preferred: 8+ years with databases and database management systems
Preferred: 10+ years across the full system development lifecycle
Preferred: 5+ years with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies
Preferred: 10+ years with networking protocols and third-party distributed systems
Preferred: 5+ years mentoring senior engineers and driving professional development
Preferred: 2+ years leading cross-domain architectural reviews and establishing coding and design standards
Expertise in strategic application of agentic AI coding tools
