About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research target organisations and identify relevant decision-makers in compliance, financial crime, operations and technology.
  • Build and maintain accurate prospect lists, prioritising businesses that match the agreed customer profile.
  • Make regular, targeted outbound calls to introduce CompliX and Fabrik and create meaningful business conversations.
  • Navigate gatekeepers and establish a clear reason for prospects to engage.
  • Use tailored follow-up emails and other agreed outreach channels.
  • Ask questions to understand prospects’ businesses, processes, challenges and priorities.
  • Qualify fit, buying stakeholders, next steps and timescales for Fabrik.
  • Explain the platform’s business value using approved product messaging.
  • Handle objections regarding timing, suppliers, budget and competing priorities.
  • Book qualified discovery meetings and provide preparation background to the founder and product team.
  • Own follow-up before and after meetings and keep agreed actions moving.
  • Participate in discovery calls and support commercial conversations.
  • Prepare follow-up materials, support proposals and help progress opportunities toward decisions.
  • Maintain contact with prospects with longer buying timelines.
  • Escalate technical, pricing and contractual questions appropriately.
  • Record contacts, call outcomes, qualification notes, objections and next steps in the CRM.
  • Keep the pipeline current with opportunity stages, follow-up dates and realistic progress assessments.
  • Report on calling activity, meaningful conversations, qualified meetings and sales opportunities.
  • Share customer questions, competitor feedback and lost-opportunity reasons to improve the sales approach.
  • Follow company guidance on professional outreach, customer information and communication preferences.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous outbound B2B sales, cold calling, telesales or business development experience, ideally at least one year.
  • Evidence of generating qualified meetings, new business opportunities or sales through proactive outreach.
  • Confident, professional spoken and written English and the ability to engage senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong listening and questioning skills, with the ability to identify a customer need rather than simply deliver a script.
  • Resilience and persistence, including confidence handling rejection and objections professionally.
  • Good organisation, reliable follow-up and attention to detail when recording customer information.
  • Confidence using a CRM, email, online meeting tools and basic spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of agreed goals and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Based in South Africa and able to work agreed calling hours aligned with the markets being targeted.
  • Experience selling SaaS, business software, technology solutions is useful, but not essential.
  • Experience calling international markets or selling to financial services organisations is useful, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with banking, fintech, payments, compliance or financial crime operations is useful, but not essential.
  • Experience with consultative selling and sales cycles involving more than one decision-maker is useful, but not essential.
