About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the completeness and accuracy of India and US financial reporting
  • Manage month-end control processes, working capital management, cash administration, and tax compliance
  • Maintain accurate and complete books of account in line with group accounting policies
  • Ensure adherence to financial reporting deadlines, policies, and procedures
  • Process sales and purchase entries in ERP
  • Support India's statutory reporting requirements and audit procedures
  • Manage capital expenditure and fixed asset accounting
  • Control intercompany transactions
  • Process month-end manual adjustments, including accruals and prepayments
  • Prepare analysis of general and administrative expenditure to support forecasting
  • Ensure purchase authorisations and review receivables aging
  • Process sales and purchase invoices
  • Manage banking transactions and perform month-end bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and coordinate foreign currency payments (A1 and A2)
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and plan forward currency needs
  • Manage tax compliance with external advisers
  • Calculate monthly TDS and GST liabilities and ensure timely payments
  • Assist with filing monthly TDS, GST, and other applicable returns
  • Scrutinise expenses for policy alignment
  • Act as key contact for Indian employee finance queries, particularly timesheets and expenses
  • Support the Finance Controller – India and wider UK finance teams
  • Support ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement of ERP systems and reporting processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified Financial Accountant with strong technical knowledge
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GST, including the relevant acts and provisions
  • Experience with SAP is preferable, but not essential
  • High motivation, energy, and drive to make things happen and grow
  • Ability to solve problems independently, without needing close guidance or supervision
  • Innovation and drive to continuously improve processes, handling ambiguity with confidence
  • Commitment to sound principles and policies
  • Pride in delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely information, with close attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels through open, confident communication
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of oil & gas, steel, cement, and/or chemicals is a plus, though not essential
