Key responsibilities & impact

Validate hypotheses with data, including partition skew, schema changes, and ACL/credential errors, and propose fixes
Analyze why issues occur, assess impacts, and propose options
Collaborate across applications, platforms, and SRE teams to resolve complex issues and prevent recurrences
Communicate clear recommendation options involving risk, effort, and impact to leads for decision making
Develop and maintain Kafka producers and consumers using Java, Python, or similar technologies
Assist in designing and implementing event-driven applications
Create and maintain Kafka topics, consumer groups, and message schemas
Develop integrations using Kafka Connect source and sink connectors
Independently resolve moderately complex issues and present clear, structured updates to project leaders
Summarize findings, risks, and recommendations
Coordinate small technical tasks or efforts with stakeholders and remove minor blockers
Diagnose system issues by correlating logs, metrics, schemas, and their relationships
Interpret project requirements and map them to technical implementation details
Propose small process and tooling improvements, such as alerts, runbook steps, and dashboards

Requirements

What you’ll need

2-4 years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Experience developing Kafka producers and consumers using Java, Python, or similar technologies
Knowledge of event-driven applications
Experience creating and maintaining Kafka topics, consumer groups, and message schemas
Experience developing integrations using Kafka Connect source and sink connectors
Ability to validate hypotheses with data and propose fixes
