About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage annual purchases spend of approximately $100M
Scout the supply base, negotiate contracts, manage relationships and performance, and manage supply risk
Manage strategic sourcing categories for Latex/Rubber commodities, exam gloves, and surgical gloves
Understand commodity markets, supply bases, supply chain and market dynamics, price mechanism design, technical product knowledge, industry dynamics, market trends, and best practices
Calculate exam glove should-cost using commodity indexes
Interact with glove and NBL Asia suppliers to gather supply market intelligence and define monthly cost and purchase volumes
Collaborate with site purchasing, finance, quality, engineering, planning, global trade, and other cross-functional teams
Assess supply risk continuously and create a robust supply base for commoditized products
Lead or work independently on complex, large-scope projects with significant long-term impact
Provide solutions that may set precedent and mentor less experienced colleagues
Provide innovative business options to support category strategy
Comply with company business ethics and procedures and perform responsible procurement

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor Degree in Chemistry is preferred
10 years Strategic Sourcing function in multinational Company
Experience in Gloves/Latex/Natural Rubber/Synthetic Rubber industry
Physical commodity trading experience is preferred
Fluent English communication
Minimum oral Mandarin
Reading and writing in Mandarin will be an added bonus
High fluency in Microsoft Office skills – Excel/Word/PowerPoint
Familiarity with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain processes
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Willing to travel approximately 20% for business purposes regionally and internationally
Experience working in a matrixed environment to deliver cost, quality, and service results in a timely manner
Quicker learner, self-motivated, detail oriented, and takes ownership of outcomes
