About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current major donors giving $5,000+ annually and prospective individual donors in the Eastern United States
- Research current and prospective donors using wealth screening and other tools to determine giving capacity and inclination
- Create and execute customized moves management plans for assigned donors
- Map donor engagement goals, cultivation activities, solicitation strategies, timelines, and participating Care Net staff or board members
- Present and pursue planned giving opportunities with assigned donors alongside Care Net’s Planned Giving experts
- Meet with donors to understand philanthropic interests and capacity, assess alignment with Care Net’s mission and vision, and invite meaningful participation
- Prepare meeting plans and proposals and coordinate participation from executive leadership, staff, and board members
- Complete call reports and update donor records promptly
- Coordinate annual donor communications, including receipts, emails, appeals, tax statements, Christmas cards, and prayer cards
- Collaborate with the Foundations Team to visit foundation partners and advance relationships and funding opportunities
- Invite donors to host Ministry Briefings and coordinate their execution
- Assist the VP of Development with major-donor fundraising strategy and contribution growth
- Travel to donor meetings, conferences, events, trainings, speaking engagements, and other activities
- Participate in staff devotions, prayer, and recurring team meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Committed Christian with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Strong commitment to evangelism, the pro-life position, and the sanctity of the family
- Agreement with and ability to uphold Care Net’s Statement of Faith, Core Values, Mission and Vision, and Code of Conduct
- Ability to work with diverse cultures, Christian denominations, backgrounds, and traditions
- At least 3 years of major gifts fundraising experience strongly preferred, with proven success asking for and closing major gifts of $10,000 or more
- Strong sales background may also be considered
- Experience across the gift or sales cycle, including donor contact, cultivation, solicitation, closing, and stewardship
- Ability to initiate, analyze, monitor, evaluate, and alter strategic advancement plans
- Ability to articulate the case for support
- Knowledge of current trends in charitable giving
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Public speaking ability
- Ability to work independently and as a team member while delivering measurable, cost-effective results
- Professionalism, sensitivity, confidence, and ability to influence, persuade, and motivate others
- Proven ability to work effectively remotely
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Understanding of CRM systems; CRM experience preferred
- Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Sheets
- Bachelor’s degree and five or more years’ work experience preferred
