About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Scan and close consultation reports, lab reports from non-interfaced labs, imaging studies from outside facilities, and other necessary items
  • Perform data entry of non-interfaced lab data and other data as necessary
  • Reconcile results, consultations, and studies with previously created orders
  • Follow clinic procedures and policies for unfulfilled labs, imaging studies, consultations, and procedures
  • Maintain communication with administrative staff, residents, and attending physicians
  • Complete internal communications according to clinic policy and procedure
  • Scan labs, x-rays, H&Ps, ER records, consult letters, and internal documents
  • Attach results to orders, close referrals, and route documents to physicians and/or NP/PA
  • Attach labs to correct orders and digitally input lab values into trackable fields
  • List and address open labs according to WCPC policies and procedures
  • List incomplete consultations, imaging studies, and other directed items
  • Verify open/incomplete studies through contact with patients, facilities, or referring physicians
  • Route reports to primary care providers
  • Request medical records from outside facilities in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Meet The Wright Center for Community Health and The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education EOS© People Analyzer Tool Buy in and experience working in the EOS® model (strongly preferred)
  • Mission-oriented; represents the enterprise in a professional manner while demonstrating organizational pride
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Technologist
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a medical facility environment
  • Previous experience with electronic health record, preferably Medent
  • Working knowledge of medical procedures, terminology and billing
  • Experience with electronic medical records, including data entry, creating reports, data analysis and daily auditing of provider performance
  • Understanding of HIPAA rules
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-based, high-intensity environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work with deadlines
  • Ability to work fast and be detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
