About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure expense submissions from Career Advisors comply with Federal WIOA, local, state, and corporate policies
- Manage grant funds and maintain records to keep grants within budget with no disallowed costs
- Provide financial compliance guidance and participant reporting in collaboration with Career Advisors, the Project Director, and the Workforce Board
- Ensure participant expenditures are entered and processed timely in accordance with policies and WIOA budgets
- Manage and monitor project participant financials and update reimbursement status for project grants
- Support teams across four counties with monthly project invoices, supporting documentation, and quality review
- Complete written forms and reports accurately and timely
- Support audit deliverables and program audit requests
- Provide administrative support to teams and programs
- Support growth and program development
- Perform other duties and projects as needed
- Report directly to the Project Director
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to interact with co-workers across all locations and, in some cases, compliance and audit professionals at customer workforce boards
- 2+ years of accounting experience and knowledge of WIOA contracts/programs preferred
- Strong computer skills in MS Excel and Google Sheets; experience a plus
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across all levels of management and staff
- Sharp attention to detail with strong organizational, analytical, research, and critical thinking skills
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet accounting month-end deadlines
- Ability to multitask, be proactive, and work independently in a virtual team environment
- Ability to work independently on routine tasks
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure while completing a high volume of work with speed and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle personnel matters and inquiries with sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy
- Multilingual or bilingual preferred
- Successful completion of a background check, including criminal, prior employment, and education verification
